Here is a list of Social Media Tools that I use to help maximize my social media efforts.
Social Media Networks
I know that there are literally hundreds of networks, but here are the main websites that I think everyone should be active on.
- LinkedIn – A powerful social media network that is targeted towards business professionals.
- Facebook – Facebook is the biggest social network right now. Although it is targeted towards connecting people (instead of businesses) there is an opportunity to create company ‘fan pages’ to promote your company.
- Twitter – Twitter is micro blogging platform that can be very useful if used correctly.
Does Social Media Help SEO? - There are a lot of myths around social media and how it interacts with search engine optimization. Companies and organizations mistakenly confuse social media with being search friendly.
Social Media Monitoring Tools
- TweetDeck – A powerful Adobe Air application that will allow you to tweet, sort people you are following, and monitor tweets from several accounts at once. It also integrates seamlessly with bit.ly, Facebook, and LinkedIn.
- bit.ly – bit.ly is a great tool for shortening URL and monitoring the click through rate of each URL that you post.
- Social Mention - Social Mention is a social media search engine that searches user-generated content on blogs, microblogs, and other channels to find mentions of your brand
